Volunteer Opportunities KKOA is here to support the needs of the Anahola community through amazing partnerships listed below. All volunteer opportunities listed below is for delivery in the Anahola community. Community Clean Up of the Anahola Coastline KKOA has worked closely with 'Aina Alliance and Surfrider Foundation in the clean up of our coastal areas and the lands directly behind of our property. Keep an eye out for updates and future clean ups on Instagram and Facebook. AHK Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Box - We need 3 drivers When: Every other Friday, between 9:30am-10am for pick up. Please anticipate approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours to deliver to the route designated to you. Your route has approximately 10-15 homes to deliver to. Where: Meet at KKOA's mauka site at 4541 Hokualele Rd (former Anahola Farmers Market) to pick up boxes. * These CSA boxes are provided by ʻĀina Ho'okupu O Kilauea to kūpuna and families in need in Anahola Nourish Kauai Meal Kits - Kupuna Meal Program There are 2 areas to volunteer - We need 2 drivers When: Every Wednesday @ 11:45am (approx 45 minutes-1 hour) Where: Pick up 103 meal kits at Crossroads Christian Fellowship on the Kapaa Bypass Road. There are usually 2 drivers because all the meal kits do not fit in one car. All kits need to be delivered to our mauka site at 4541 Hokualele Rd. A team of drivers will receive their meal kits from you. It will take approximately 20 minutes to load your car and about 15 minutes to drive from Crossroads to Anahola to meet the delivery team. Currently, we have 2 drivers and need one more person to pick up 34 meal kits. When: Every Wednesday at 12:30PM (approx 1.5hrs) Where: Pick up meal kits at our Mauka Site 4541 Hokualele Rd (former Anahola Farmers Market) and deliver to approximately 10-15 households with kūpuna. We need one more person to take a route that has 9-10 homes to deliver to. Please contact Rae Nam if you are interested as a driver or delivery person at (808)224-4245. Site Garden Work There are several ways that you can volunteer to assist us with maintaining both of our garden sites. The work varies from weeding our mala (taro patches) to propagating plants to cleaning the supply storage areas to weed whacking or mowing or planting trees or vegetables in our garden areas, etc. If you are interested in helping in these areas, please contact Kapule Torio at (808)639-2403. |
