A new school year is about to begin and as we look back in just a short year, we have accomplished much ~ we completed two years of our Resilient Leaders & Food Security program with the 7th grade students from Kanuikapono Public Charter School, our volunteer teams have continued to serve 103 kūpuna every week which means weʻve delivered approximately 5,000 meal kits that feed 4 people for each meal kit - thatʻs 20,000 meals! Our irrigation system is installed and kalo, banana and papaya are now growing at our Ulupono Anahola site. We also have a staff member certified to now train our community through the safeTALK Suicide Prevention curriculum. We are excited to meet with community members from Anahola who are interested in starting their 10ft. x 10ft garden plots and we have 2 more containers on its way so we can set up our washing stations when itʻs time for the harvest! Thank you to everyone who has helped in incredible ways so our youth and ʻohana can thrive! Get ready for our upcoming hale halawai and youth center projects. Itʻs gonna be another great year to seeing our mission and vision become a reality!
